Your weight loss journey
First Steps
Welcome to Obesity Clinic Queensland. If you have found yourself here on our website, you have taken your first courageous steps to creating a new, healthier future for yourself. We are here to help you and walk beside you every step of the way in this journey.
Your first step is an initial consultation with Dr Daoud and we can offer you this within 1-2 weeks of contacting our rooms. All you need to do is obtain a Doctor's Referral Letter and we can arrange the consultation. Our friendly team are here to help you feel comfortable and answer any concerns you may have. We truly love what we do, and we look forward to speaking with you to assist you in any way we can.
First Consultation
At your first consultation, Dr Daoud will explain to you in depth the different types of bariatric surgery and recommend the procedure that best suits your needs. He will answer any questions you may have and o through the pros and cons of your surgical options. When booking in your consultation, we will send you a Patient Questionnaire to complete and bring to your appointment.
When coming for your initial consultation, all you are required to bring is:
- Referral Letter from your GP or Specialist.
- Medicare and private health fund details.
- Copies of any relevant scans or reports (if you have any)
- Completed Patient Questionnaire
We encourage you to bring a partner, or a support person to the appointment if you feel more comfortable in doing so. After your initial consult, Dr Daoud will ask you to have some bloods taken and to arrange a meeting with one of our recommended Dieticians. Our admin staff will discuss pricing with you and arrange a follow-up appointment with Dr Daoud where he will talk through your blood test results and offer you another opportunity to ask any further questions. From here, we can book in your surgery at a time that suits you.
Before Your Surgery
There are some requirements that you must ensure you have completed before your surgery. They are as follows:
- Complete admission for Hospital. This is to be done either online at healthscope.eadmissions.com.au or by post. We can provide you with these forms in our rooms if your preference is to do this by post.
- Have a consultation with one of our recommended Dieticians.
- Ensure you have discussed any current medications with Dr Daoud. This is important so that he can advise you whether or not to cease them leading up to the surgery.
